RJ Norton Dominates July 4th Event at Anderson Speedway

Indianapolis driver R. J. Norton Jr. is no stranger when it comes to winning Outlaw Figure-8 racing at Anderson Speedway. Norton captured the Winged Outlaw Figure 8 Series (WOFS) feature event Friday night.

Norton led all 50 laps on July 4 before a packed grandstand to win at the local track for the 12th time since 1989.

Headlining a stout field of drivers will be Jeff Shackelford who won the inaugural WOFS event at Anderson Speedway on April 5. Shackelford waged a fierce battle with Mike Hadley Jr. for the win and cemented his name in the history books by winning the first-ever WOFS event.

The series enters the Anderson event with a tight point’s battle ensuing. Eight drivers are separated by a mere twelve points. Hadley Jr. is currently holding a 1 point edge over Shackelford with former IOFS National champion Jeremy Vanderhoof just 4 points behind in third.  Full Story

IOFS / AMCS Tire Will Not be Permitted

The Winged Outlaw Figure 8 Series (WOFS) today announced their decision to disallow the American Racer EC-84 8.0/29.0-15 that is been utilized by the IOFS and AMCS in 2014.

WOFS Managing Co-partner David Sink gave the reasoning behind the decision."We originally considered allowing this tire at our events because we realized a handful of drivers who had competed in these other series had them. We were lead to believe this was the exact same tire the WOFS was utilizing, but only a harder version. After talking to American Racer Tire we were informed that this particular tire is actually a 9" tire unlike the 8" EC 85 tire we are utilizing. In the interest of fairness and creating a level playing field, we decided this decision is the best for all involved and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused" concluded Sink.

The 8" EC 85 that the WOFS uses can be purchased through the WOFS or the Sportsdrome Speedway. Tires for the next event are available now by calling (765) 623-8586 or (765) 278-8231.

WOFS Adds Dates to Schedule
