Mark Tunny Uses Patience, Captures Anderson Event
ANDERSON, Ind. (July 4 , 2015)
— Mark Tunny used patience to capture the Interstate Auto Auction Winged Outlaw Figure 8 Series (WOFS) event Saturday night at Anderson Speedway. The win came in Tunny’s first career WOFS start. A near capacity crowd was on hand to witness the second stop on the 2015 WOFS calendar.

Tunny witnessed two different leaders make contact with slower cars at the intersection before he inherited the lead on lap 27. Early race leader Austin Tunny began to check out on the field before making contact with Mike Hadley Jr. on lap 19. Ben Tunny assumed the point until he made contact with Dennis Whisman on lap 26. Mark Tunny assumed the lead at that point and never looked back en-route to his first career WOFS victory and a $1500 payday. Full Story

 

Iron Mike St. John Headlines Anderson Event
ANDERSON, Ind. (July 3 , 2015)
— Veteran Figure 8 driver “Iron Mike” St. John will make his return to Figure 8 racing this Saturday night at Anderson Speedway during the Interstate Auto Auction Winged Outlaw Figure 8 Series (WOFS) event. The event will be part of the popular annual July 4th “Interstate Auto Auction Figure 8 Madness” event.

St. John will be returning to the site of his last feature victory. St. John captured a 30-lap IOFS Regional victory on September 16, 2012. The veteran will be competing for the first time since 2012.  Full Story

 

Hadley Holds On to Win Anderson Thriller

ANDERSON, Ind. (April 11 , 2015)
— Defending Interstate Auto Auction WOFS champion Mike Hadley Jr. held on to win the WOFS season opener Saturday at Anderson Speedway. The victory was Hadley’s second career WOFS victory and first at Anderson Speedway.

Ben Tunny got the night started off setting quick time with a lap of 16.951 seconds around the high-banked speedway.

Pole sitter Hadley got the lead at the drop of the green but was pursued closely by Chis Harmon, Ben Tunny, and Jesse Tunny. Hadley began to build a sizeable lead as the battle for second between trio was tight. At one point, Hadley had a straightaway size lead. On lap 21 Harmon was forced to take evasive action to avoid hitting Jeff Swinford at the intersection falling to fourth. Full Story
